Madhya Pradesh Mysterious Temple: Kailaras city located in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh is known for its religious and historical heritage. The ancient temple of Alopishankar Mahadev situated on a 700 feet high hill here is not only a center of faith but also contains within itself a millennium old mystery. The biggest feature of this temple is that there are two Pindis (Shivling) present inside the same water tank, which is seen only in a few temples in the country.

History is 1000 years old

It is believed that this temple is about a thousand years old. According to legends, there used to be the place of Siddha Baba Buddh Giri here. After his disappearance, two Shivalingas automatically appeared from the same place. Because Baba had disappeared, this place was named Alopishankar Mahadev. Here the presence of two Pindis in the same pond is considered a symbol of the confluence of Shiva and Shakti or Guru-disciple.

That story of Lakha Banjare

A famous folk tale to the temple is that of Lakha Banjare. It is said that Lakha Banjara was carrying sacks of sugar when Siddha Baba asked him what was in the sacks? Out of ego, Lakha lied that there was salt in it. When he reached the market, the sugar had miraculously turned into salt. After realizing his mistake, when he returned to the hill, Baba had disappeared and Shivalinga had appeared there.

Journey of 560 stairs and unbroken faith

Devotees have to climb 560 steps to reach the temple. The view here is divine in the month of Sawan. Thousands of Kanwariyas and devotees from not only Madhya Pradesh but also neighboring states like Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh reach here for Jalabhishek. For the last 10 years, the recitation of Akhand Ramayana and the Akhand Jyoti are lit here, which further increases the energy of this place.

Bus: Buses are available from Morena and Gwalior to Kailaras every 5 minutes.

Rail: The work of broad gauge line is going on from Gwalior to Sheopur which will make rail travel even easier in future.

Private Means: Due to its location on the highway, devotees can easily reach here even by their personal vehicles.
