Glen Powell is arriving at Paramount+ with The Running Manfinally ready to debut at the streaming platform this week.
The 2025 sci-fi adventure movie, based on Stephen King‘s 1982 dystopian novel, will be available to stream on Tuesday, January 13, in the US and Canada.
The streaming release date of the Edgar Wright-helmed movie internationally is yet to be announced.
Set in a grim near-future world, The Running Man follows Ben Richards, played by Daniel Powell, a desperate father trying to afford his daughter’s life-saving medication.
Blacklisted from traditional employment, Richards’s only option is to enter the government-controlled reality show that has captured the nation, a deadly televised chase where he must evade capture to claim a billion-dollar prize.
The film features a powerhouse ensemble including William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Katy O’Brien, Martin Herlihy, Sean Hayes, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin.
Adapted from Stephen King’s novel, the screenplay was co-written by Michael Bacall and Edgar Wright, who also directed.
Production credits include Simon Kinberg, Nira Park, and Wright as producers, with George Linder, James Biddle, Rachael Prior, Audrey Chon, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary serving as executive producers.
The Running Man hit theaters and IMAX screens on November 14 before making its way to streaming platforms.
