Prasidh Krishna IND vs NZ: The first ODI match of the three-match series between India and New Zealand is being played in Vadodara. Batting first after losing the toss, New Zealand scored 300 runs on the score board after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. On behalf of the team, Daryl Mitchell continued his excellent form and played a strong inning of 84 runs.

Whereas, Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls scored half-centuries. In bowling, the performance of Harshit Rana and Siraj from India was good, but Prasidh Krishna once again gave away runs openly.

Famous Krishna proved expensive again

By keeping Arshdeep Singh on the bench, captain Shubman Gill and the team management decided to take the field with Prasidh Krishna. However, Prasidh once again disappointed with his performance. His weakness of not being able to control the runs continued in this match as well. He gave away 60 runs in a spell of 9 overs. Captain Gill handed over the responsibility of the 48th and 50th overs of the innings to Prasidh and he gave away 28 runs in just 2 overs.

However, 2 wickets definitely came in Prasidh’s bag. Prasidh was also badly beaten in the home ODI series played against South Africa. Prasidh is continuously getting opportunities, but till now he has completely failed to work on his shortcomings.

Daryl Mitchell played a strong innings

New Zealand, who came to bat first after losing the toss, got a great start from Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls. Both of them together added 117 runs for the first wicket in 21.4 overs. This was only the third time in the history of ODI cricket when an opening pair from New Zealand added more than 100 runs on Indian soil. Conway was out after scoring 56 runs, while Nicholls got 62 runs in his account. However, after both of them returned to the pavilion, the Kiwi team lost wickets in bunches and by the time they reached 200, half the team returned to the pavilion.

However, Daryl Mitchell stood at one end and played a strong inning of 84 runs in 71 balls. He hit 5 fours and 3 sixes during this inning. Due to Mitchell’s excellent innings, New Zealand was successful in touching the 300 mark.
