Dense fog and increasing cold have badly affected life in Muzaffarpur. Due to the fog that prevailed from late evening till morning, visibility became extremely low, due to which the speed of road and rail traffic slowed down.
Muzaffarpur has once again been wrapped in a blanket of dense fog, due to which the difficulties of common people have increased. Dense fog covered the district since late evening, which persisted till early morning. Visibility has become extremely low due to fog, which has a direct impact on road and rail traffic. Due to the dense fog, people are facing problems in transportation and the speed has also been slowed down. Both road and rail routes have been affected due to low visibility. A drop in temperature has been recorded in the district and the mercury has dropped to around 7 degrees Celsius, due to which the effect of cold has increased further.
Due to fog, drivers are driving on the roads with lights on even during the day. The speed of trains has also been affected and many trains are operating at slow speed. Vehicles are seen crawling on the roads. The Meteorological Department had already predicted the possibility of dense fog. Kanakni has increased due to westerly winds, due to which people are forced to resort to bonfires. Due to dense fog in the district, people’s daily routine has been completely affected.
Due to dense fog since early morning, drivers are facing a lot of problems. There has been a huge decline in visibility from city to village and it has come down to 20 to 30 meters. Due to cold and fog, the speed of vehicles has slowed down, due to which traffic on the roads is being affected. Trains are also running at low speed. The effect of this dense fog spread in North India is especially visible on long distance trains, due to which the problems of passengers have increased.
Here, the State Meteorological Department has issued an alert for the next few days. A warning has also been issued for many districts regarding cold days. The department says that at present there is no possibility of getting relief from the cold. People have been advised to take precautions against cold and stay safe. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted some relief after the next two to three days.
