Adani Group will invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the Kutch region of Gujarat in the next 5 years. Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) Limited, said this on Sunday.

Karan Adani said that this investment shows that India can simultaneously achieve economic growth, protect the environment and meet energy needs.


In an event organized in Rajkot, Karan Adani said that Gujarat is not just an investment state for Adani Group, but it is the foundation of their entire journey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in this program.


He said, “Our Chairman Gautam Adani has always believed that the growth of our Group should not be separate from the development of the country. Gujarat is the place from where Adani Group started and it is the state where our long-term commitment rests. Moving forward on this basis, Adani Group is committed to invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the Kutch region over the next five years.”


Praising Gujarat’s governance model, Karan Adani said the state had demonstrated ease of doing business on the ground long ago, when the term had not even become a part of the national policy. He also said that we will double the capacity of Mundra Port in the next 10 years.


He said that fast decision-making process, strong institutions and respect for industries created an environment conducive to development in Gujarat. Later, this model was implemented in the entire country through cooperative and competitive federalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.


Praising Prime Minister Modi, Karan Adani said, “There has been a big change in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister inaugurated a trade exhibition ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot. The objective of this event is to showcase investment opportunities and strengthen the role of Gujarat in India’s economic progress.
