The Ireland squad has been announced: 2026 ICC T20 World CupWith less than a month to go, all the teams are seen gearing up for this big tournament. Similarly, Ireland has announced the squad for this 2026 T20 World Cup. Paul Stirling will be seen leading the team, while Lorcan Tucker has been named as the vice-captain.
Ireland men’s national team selector Andrew White commented, “We come T20 World CupTo say we are looking forward to it would be an understatement, after a memorable tournament in 2022, we were probably not at our best in 2024 and are very keen to improve from then on. Over the last 18 months, we have experimented with different strategies, roles and team combinations and we are more than happy to have the team in good shape ahead of the tournament.”
Ireland’s squad includes 22-year-old top-order batsman and off-spinner Tim Tector, 23-year-old left-arm middle-order batsman Ben Kallitz and left-arm spinner Matthew Humphries. White added that the addition of new players creates a “more dynamic nature” in the team.
Co-hosted by Ireland Sri Lankahave been placed in Group B along with Australia, Oman and Zimbabwe. Ireland will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka in Colombo on February 8. All the league matches will be played in Sri Lanka.
