Tezzbuzz Desk- As the T20 World Cup is getting closer, the ongoing dispute between India and Bangladesh has become a matter of concern for cricket fans. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not changed its stand till now and has refused to send its team to India. BCB had already emailed ICC on January 4 regarding security and now has once again reiterated its position on this matter.

BCB has demanded from ICC that its matches should be organized in Sri Lanka instead of India. The ICC has currently refused to accept this demand and has asked the board to provide more detailed information on security concerns. According to reports, BCB has sent a second email in response to ICC’s questions. However, there is no consensus within the board regarding this matter. Some members believe that the doors of discussion with ICC and BCCI should be kept open.

The effect of the current situation is also visible on the Bangladeshi players and coaching staff. The controversy that started after BCCI’s decision to drop Mustafizur Rahman from IPL 2026 is now making the players restless. Apart from this, Indian bat and kit manufacturing company SG has canceled its contracts with Bangladeshi players, which has increased the uneasiness among the players.

Members of the foreign coaching staff are also worried. “We have come here to play cricket and what could be bigger than the World Cup? I am hoping that the matter gets resolved soon,” a coach said in a Cricbuzz report.

ICC’s next step and BCB’s stance will decide whether Bangladesh team will go to India for the World Cup or the controversy will escalate further.
