‘Swabhiman Parv’ organized at Somnath temple

New Delhi. Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Bholenath, located in the western region of India, has become the center of discussion at the moment. ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ is being celebrated here. This festival is especially important, because in January 2026, the one thousandth anniversary of the first attack on the Somnath temple will be celebrated.

Prime Minister Modi’s statement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on this occasion that many attacks in history have not weakened our faith. On the contrary, these attacks have further strengthened the cultural unity of India. He said that the repeated revival of Somnath is the biggest example of this. The Prime Minister also shared some of his old photographs to Somnath, which offer an important Hindutva perspective on the subject.

Historicity of Somnath

The Prime Minister emphasized that the indomitable spirit of the Somnath Temple symbolizes that this place is important not only from a religious but also from a cultural point of view. This temple stands proudly despite many challenges and struggles. Somnath Swabhiman Parv will be celebrated throughout the year, and Prime Minister Modi is planning to visit the Somnath temple on January 11.
