Madras High Court While giving its verdict in favor of the film producers, the High Court said – ‘The CBFC Chairperson had no authority to send the film to the Review Committee.’ The court has canceled the CBFC letter issued on January 6, and has also ordered the board to immediately issue ‘UA’ certificate to the film without any delay. What was the statement issued by the makers?


A day before, a statement was issued by the production house of the film itself regarding postponing the release date of Jana Nayakan. KVN Productions said in its statement, ‘It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and viewers. The release of the eagerly awaited film ‘Jana Nayakan’ on January 9 has been postponed due to some reasons which were beyond our control. At the same time, now the film has got ‘UA’ certificate. In such a situation, soon Thalapathy’s fans will get to see his last film in theatres. However, the makers have not yet released the new date.
