Land for Jobs case: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Friday ordered framing of charges against RJD chief and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his family members and others in the ‘Land for Job’ case. The court framed charges against 41 people in this case and acquitted 52 people, including railway officials.
Special Judge Vishal Gogane said Yadav used the Railway Ministry as his personal fiefdom to carry out a criminal act in which a government job was used as a bargaining chip by the Yadav family in connivance with railway officials and their close associates to acquire parcels of land. Advocate Ajaz Ahmed, appearing for the Lalu family, said, “Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, in the ‘jobs for land’ case in the Rouse Avenue court today. “Charges have been framed against Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family members, including Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav…”
Earlier, RJD leaders Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti reached Rouse Avenue Court for hearing in the land-for-job case. Janashakti Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav had arrived for the hearing in the land-for-job case. On the court order, JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar said, “Lalu is a politician who has brought politics into disrepute… His land should be confiscated and schools and old age homes should be built on that land.”
