As we step into the second week of January 2026, the OTT space is buzzing with content. From the return of prestige dramas to horror dramas, there are lots in store for movie buffs. Here's a list of some of the exciting OTT drops of the week. Let’s take a look.



HIS & HERS






If intense, nail-biting moments are what keep you glued to the screens, do not miss 'HIS & HERs' dropping on Netflix on January 8. Based on the best-selling novel by British writer and journalist Alice Feeney, the series follows estranged spouses, a detective, and a news reporter, entangled in a murder investigation. The limited series features Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal in lead roles.



Weapons






Directed by Zach Cregger, ‘Weapons’ is a horror film that follows the disappearance of 17 children. The film features Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, and Amy Madigan. “When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at 2:17 a.m., a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance,” reads the summary on Jio Hotstar, where it will premiere on January 8.



The Pitt Season 2




Brace yourselves, because ‘ The Pitt ’ is back with season 2. The Emmy Award-winning medical drama series features Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, and Sepideh Moafi in the lead roles. Expect more tension and challenges in the new 15-hour shift. The new season will premiere on JioHotstar on January 9.



People we meet on vacation




If you absolutely love rom-coms, do not miss ‘People We Meet on Vacation’. An adaptation of the popular Emily Henry novel, the film follows best friends Alex and Poppy, who reunite and spend summer vacations together. “Poppy's a free spirit. Alex loves a plan. After years of summer vacations, these polar-opposite pals wonder if they could be a perfect romantic match,” reads the summary on Netflix, where the film will be dropped on January 9. The lead cast includes Emily Bader, Tom Blyth, Lukas Gage, Jameela Jamil, Alan Ruck, and Molly Shannon.



Freedom at Midnight Season 2

Based on the non-fiction book by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, ‘Freedom at midnight’ is returning with season 2. The series created by Nikkhil Advani features Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, Rajendra Chawla, Luke McGibney, and Arif Zakaria in the lead roles. The series explores the aftermath of Indian independence and the cost of Partition. You can watch the new season on SonyLIV from January 9.
