Cyber Fraud: In today's world, Bluetooth has become an everyday necessity. Whether it's connecting wireless earbuds, connecting your phone to your car audio, or sending photos to a friend, Bluetooth is used for everything.

The problem starts when Bluetooth remains on even after you're done using it. This small oversight can become a major threat to both your privacy and your bank account.

Cyber fraudsters are active in crowded places like buses, trains, metros, malls, and markets. They use special software and devices to find nearby mobile phones with Bluetooth enabled and discoverable.

They then send a pairing request to your phone. Often, people accept this request without thinking, and that's where the fraud begins.

Once a connection is established, the fraudsters can gain access to important data on your phone. In some cases, they steal messages, contacts, and even banking information. These types of attacks are known as Bluejacking, Bluesnarfing, and Bluebugging, where hackers can even gain control of your phone without your knowledge.

Once the fraudsters gain access to your phone, OTPs, bank alert messages, and app notifications become easily accessible to them. This is why in many cases, people's accounts are emptied in just a few minutes. The most dangerous thing is that the victim often doesn't realize what's happening until the damage is done.

Avoiding this type of cyber fraud is not difficult; it just requires a little caution. Whenever you finish using Bluetooth, you should turn it off immediately. Keeping Bluetooth on in public places can be risky, so be especially careful there. Never accept pairing requests from unknown devices, and keep Bluetooth in non-discoverable mode in your phone's settings so that your phone is not visible to others.
