New Delhi: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to travel to India for the T20 World Cup 2026, reports Cricbuzz. The decision was taken during a meeting of the board’s officials.
Additionally, the board has also decided to revoke the NOC granted to the pacer Mustafizur Rahman for IPL 2026 with immediate effect, which means that even if KKR and BCCI change their decision, the BCB will not permit Mustafizur Rahman to participate in the IPL for security reasons.
Earlier, the board had decided to send letters to the ICC and the BCCI to know the security arrangements of the tournament, but later changed their mind during the meeting that was attended by the majority of the directors.
Bangladesh are scheduled to start their T20 World Cup campaign on February 7. They are placed in Group C alongside England, West Indies, Nepal and Italy. They will take on two-time champions West Indies in their opening match on February 7 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After that, they will face Italy at the same venue on February 9 at the same venue. The Bangla Tigers will be up against England on February 14, which is also in Kolkata, and their final group match is against Nepal on February 17 in Mumbai.
