Chelsea and Enzo Maresca have parted ways after a difficult run of results in which the Blues have won only one of their last seven league matches.


The Italian departs Chelsea after an 18-month spell in which it finished fourth in the league, and won the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup. It is currently fifth in the Premier League with 30 points from 19 matches, and 13th in the UEFA Champions League league stage.

June 3, 2024 – Enzo Maresca is appointed as Chelsea manager, joining after winning the Championship with Leicester City.


August 18, 2024 – Maresca loses his first Premier League fixture in charge, going down 2-0 to former side Manchester City.


August 25, 2024 – Powered by a Noni Madueke hat-trick, Chelsea defeats Wolverhampton Wanderers for Maresca’s first Premier League win.


December 8, 2024 – Chelsea comes from 0-2 behind to stun Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the standout result of Maresca’s tenure to that point.


January 14, 2025 – Despite Reece James scoring a late free-kick, Chelsea is held to a 2-2 draw at home against Bournemouth to compound a run of six league games without a victory in the Premier League.


April 20, 2025 – Pedro Neto’s late winner gives Chelsea victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage and kickstarts a run of five wins in its last six games to help Chelsea qualify for the UEFA Champions League.


May 25, 2025 – Levi Colwill’s second-half winner gives Chelsea a victory over Nottingham Forest that confirms it will finish in fourth place in Maresca’s debut season.


May 28, 2025 – Four second-half goals help Chelsea beat Real Betis 4-1 and win the UEFA Conference League, Maresca’s first trophy in charge of the Blues.


July 13, 2025 – Chelsea thumps Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup to give Maresca a second trophy with the club.


August 17, 2025 – Chelsea begins the 2025-26 Premier League season, 34 days after the Club World Cup final, with a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.


September 27, 2025 – A 3-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion means that Chelsea has won just two of its first six matches of the Premier League season.


December 13, 2025 – Maresca described the time before Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton as “the worst 48 hours of my life” because of a lack of support from certain quarters.


December 30, 2025 – Maresca is booed by Chelsea fans after a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth means that the team has won just one of its last seven matches.


January 1, 2026 – Enzo Maresca leaves Chelsea.
