Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will attend the opening ceremony of the three-day Indian literary and cultural festival, “Delhi Shabdotsav 2026,” at National Stadium on Friday, according to an official.

In addition to more than 40 book launches, six cultural events, and two poets’ meetings, the event will have more than 100 notable speakers, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Sunil Ambekar, Manmohan Vaidya, and Sachchidanand Joshi.


CM Gupta was previously informed about the event’s program and other campaign-related events by Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra during the event’s poster unveiling on December 29.


“The organizers’ team met under the leadership of Cabinet colleague Shri @KapilMishra_IND ji following the launch of the poster for the ‘Delhi Shabdotsav’ program,” CM Gupta tweeted on X.


“The Delhi Government and Suruchi Prakashan are organizing ‘Delhi Shabdotsav,’ which will take place at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium from January 2 to 4 and include distinguished intellectuals, authors, and lecturers from all across the nation. The Chief Minister wrote on X, “Book releases, cultural presentations, and a poets’ conclave will also be held during the program.”


MLAs Abhay Verma and Rajkumar Bhatia, the Chief Minister’s Cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, and other notable guests were present on this particular occasion.


The Department and a publishing firm would collaborate to host Delhi Shabdotsav, the nation’s biggest literary and cultural festival, on January 2, 3, and 4 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Delhi Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra said earlier on Monday.


He said, “Students from the nearly 40 universities in Delhi NCR will also participate in the cultural event.”


Programs like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, Kavi Sammelan, and Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan will be included during the event, according to Mishra.


According to him, the celebration will be inaugurated by the chief minister of Delhi. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, and Vijay Sharma, the home minister of Chhattisgarh will also be there.
