IAS Success Story: Climbing the ladder of success is not easy, but if the intentions are strong and the goal is clear, then great success can be achieved even without coaching. The story of IAS Ishita Rathi is a great example of this. She prepared for UPSC Civil Services Examination without any coaching class and became an IAS officer by securing All India Rank 8.
IAS Ishita Rathi is a resident of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His family has already been associated with discipline and service. His father is Head Constable Rathi, while his mother Meenakshi Rathi works as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Delhi Police. Since both her parents were in the police service, Ishita got the values of hard work, honesty and responsibility since childhood.
Ishita Rathi’s early education was from DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi. After this she graduated in Economics Honors from the prestigious Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University. For further studies, he obtained a Post Graduation (Masters) degree from Madras School of Economics. It was during his Masters that he decided to join civil services and started preparing for UPSC.
IAS Ishita Rathi prepared for UPSC through self-study while staying at home. He did not take any kind of coaching. In the year 2019, he took the UPSC Civil Services Examination for the first time, but he was not successful in this attempt. However, he did not give up and further improved his strategy. After this, he took the exam again in 2021 and this time he fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS by securing All India Rank 8.
Ishita Rathi has married her own batchmate. Her husband Ravi Sihag is also an IAS officer and had secured All India Rank 18 in the UPSC exam. Presently IAS Ishita Rathi is working as Sub-Collector (Revenue) in North Puducherry, while her husband is serving as Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) in Lakhnadaun, Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh.
