Monsoon Alert: Weather across the country is changing rapidly. Most states are experiencing severe cold. In some places, dense fog is causing significant problems for people. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and snowfall across several states. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a rain alert has been issued for Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi until January 5, 2026.
Additionally, dense fog is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh until January 2nd and in western Rajasthan until January 3rd, 2026, during the night and morning hours. On January 1st, heavy rain and snowfall are likely across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad. Let’s identify which states are likely to experience rain in the coming days.
Rain Warning for Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, a slight increase in temperature is expected in Delhi from January 1st. On Thursday, the minimum temperature is likely to be between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, and the maximum between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. However, light rain is possible in Delhi, while some areas may experience fog in the morning.
Rain Warning for Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is possible in the Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions on Thursday due to a Western Disturbance.
Rain Expected in These States
According to the IMD, light rain is possible at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan on January 1st. Light rain is also possible in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh on January 1st. On January 1st, strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning are likely across many areas of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu.
Rain in These Districts of UP
The Meteorological Department predicts that many areas in western UP districts, including Saharanpur, Shamli, and Muzaffarnagar, are likely to receive rainfall today. Meanwhile, rain is expected at one or two places in Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Mathura, Aligarh, Amroha, Hapur, Bijnor, and Moradabad. However, dense fog will persist across most of eastern Uttar Pradesh today.
