New Delhi: Veteran Telugu actor Chandramohan is remembered for a career that shaped generations of cinema lovers. Even after his passing in 2023, his old interviews have resurfaced online, drawing fresh attention for their warmth, honesty and surprising revelations. In one such conversation, the actor spoke candidly about his film journey, personal bonds and an uncanny pattern that followed his collaborations with leading ladies.

Chandramohan carved a unique space in Telugu cinema by successfully transitioning from lead roles to memorable supporting parts. His reflections highlight a life lived on sets, driven by craft rather than stardom. He recalled sharing deep creative and emotional ties with stalwarts like K. Viswanath and legendary singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. He revealed that Viswanath was, in fact, his cousin, a family connection he discovered only after entering the film industry due to limited contact in their early years.

Chandramohan’s old interviews resurface

One comment that grabbed attention involved the long-standing belief that actresses who debuted or acted with him often went on to become stars. Chandramohan dismissed it as coincidence, admitting he never understood why it happened. Yet, the list speaks volumes. He worked alongside Bhanupriya, her sister Shantipriya, Radhika, Vijayashanti, Sulakshana, Sridevi, Jaya Prada and Jayasudha, among many others.

He revealed that Vijayashanti acted with him in eight films, while Jaya Prada shared screen space with him in six to eight projects. His association with Jayasudha stood out the most. “We did 25 films together,” he said, underlining a partnership built on trust and familiarity. With Sridevi, however, he managed only one film. He explained that after her debut, she quickly rose to work alongside top stars like NTR and Krishna, making her unaffordable for the modest budgets of his films at the time.
