New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket witnessed a historic moment on Sri Lankan soil as star all-rounder Deepti Sharma etched her name in the record books with an extraordinary achievement. Alongside India’s dominant 5–0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka in the T20I series, Deepti emerged as the highest wicket-taker in women’s T20 international cricket, setting a new global benchmark.

The landmark moment came during the fifth and final T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium on Tuesday, December 30. Deepti claimed her 152nd T20I wicket, surpassing Australian pacer Megan Schutt’s previous record of 151 wickets. With this feat, Deepti firmly established herself as one of the greatest all-rounders the women’s game has ever seen.

Deepti Sharma’s achievement goes far beyond just wicket numbers.
