After this announcement of Yogi government, a lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the people working in government departments, because the coming year is going to be very favorable for holidays.

25 public and 32 optional holidays

According to the calendar released by the government, in the year 2026, employees will get 25 days of public holidays. Apart from this, 32 days optional leave has also been prescribed. This means that employees will be able to avail alternative holidays as per their convenience and belief.

Great combination of festival and weekend

This time many festivals are falling, which will benefit the employees in the form of long breaks. The special thing is that Mahashivratri and Diwali are falling on Sunday. At the same time, due to many public holidays being on Friday and Monday, there is a possibility of three to four days of continuous holidays along with Saturday and Sunday. With this, employees will be able to plan better to spend time with family or travel.

According to the information released by the administration, among the public holidays declared in 2026, 3 holidays are falling on Monday, 4 on Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday, 6 on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Apart from this, employees working in offices where six-day work week is in force will get two consecutive days off six times throughout the year.

March will be the most special month

March 2026 will prove to be the best month for employees in terms of holidays. There are five public holidays and five Sundays falling in this month. This means that almost every week there is going to be relief in some form or the other.
