Will make people aware about the ill effects of child marriage

Raipur News: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today flagged off the Child Marriage Free Jashpur Abhiyan Rath from the Community Health Center premises located in Farsabahar. This awareness chariot will tour the urban areas of the district as well as remote rural areas to make people aware about the ill effects of child marriage. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that child marriage is playing with the future of children and it is the collective responsibility of the society to stop it. He appealed to the general public that if there is any apprehension of child marriage, they should inform on 1098 without hesitation and become a partner in preventing this social evil.

Through this campaign Rath, citizens will be informed about the physical, mental and social harm caused by child marriage, the statutory minimum age of marriage and legal provisions under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act. Its objective is to eradicate the evil practice like child marriage by developing positive thinking in the society. On this occasion, District Panchayat President Salik Sai, Commissioner Narendra Kumar Dugga, IG Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. G. S. Officials and employees of the health department including Jatra were present.

1098 child helpline has been prominently displayed on Rath, so that if citizens get information about child marriage anywhere, they can immediately give information on this helpline number. As soon as the information is received, prompt action will be ensured by the joint team for prohibition of child marriage. It is noteworthy that other problems to children are also solved through 1098 helpline.
