If a month of partying and celebrating has taken its toll on your skin, then an emergency beauty intervention might be in order. And if there’s one area of skin that’ll give away when you’re feeling tired, dehydrated or just a little blah, it’s your under eyes.
Whether you’ve got dark circles from late nights or too much wine, or are feeling a little puffy from a lack of sleep or dehydration, our under eyes are a dead give away if we’re not feeling our best, which is why under eye patches have become a beauty bag must-have for most of us. And thankfully we’ve found some great ones that’ll work their magic to de-puff, sooth and hydrate quickly thanks to Mario Badescu.

The Hydrogel Under Eye Patches are designed to help sooth, rejuvenate and energise your under eyes, so you look younger and more awake almost immediately. Although the Mario Badescu eye patches don’t actually tell you how many you get, for £32 you’ll get an entire tub filled with them, which are ready to be used and even come with a mini spatula to help make it easy to lift and separate them.
You just need to pop them under your eyes for around 15-20 minutes, and your eyes will be brighter and de-puffed with not a trace of last night’s cocktails or lack of sleep in sight. The Hydrogel Under Eye Patches contain a combination of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, tiger grass, red algae and caffeine, all of which work together to help energise, calm and nourish the delicate skin under your eyes.
One thing that can be annoying about under eye patches is when they slip and slide everywhere, but the Mario Badescu ones have apparently been designed to ensure they stay in place. That means you can wear them while you potter around doing other things, or whilst enjoying a little down time and moment to yourself.
Some other great options include Grace & Stella’s huge range of under eye patches, which do everything from illuminate and energise to moisturise, and cost just £19.95 for a box of 24. If you want to splurge, Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte's Hollywood Skin Secrets Immediate Eye Revival Patches are £58 (although you do get 60 patches included in the tub) with the website saying they make your eyes: “Brighter, snatched and rested in just 10 minutes”.
For a celeb-approved pick, the Peptide Eye Prep Depuffing Eye Patches not only hail from Hailey Bieber’s own beauty brand Rhode, but have been spotted being used by the likes of Rochelle Humes. Although they’re a little more affordable at £28, you do only get six in a pack.
However, the Mario Badescu Hydrogel Under Eye Patches have also got great reviews from shoppers, with one writing: “Best eye patches I have used - ever! They stay wet in the jar, don't slip and the results are amazing!!! Brightens and tightens and looks refreshed!”
Another said: “Love the eye patches, I put them in the refrigerator and they hydrate well and depuff amazingly!”
A third praised: “Noticeable difference in reducing under eye puffiness. Love the texture.”
However there were some complaints, with one saying: “Too large for my small face. Slipped immediately and covered most of my cheeks when in correct place.”
Whilst another wrote: “They are refreshing and hydrating. I haven't noticed a change but haven't used them for long.”
