Bhuvan Bam: According to actor-creator Bhuvan Bam, access has been the most significant shift in the first quarter of the twenty-first century.

Speaking about how the entertainment industry is changing, Bhuvan said that Bollywood used to seem far away and mostly unreachable, but that these obstacles have been removed by technology.

The largest change, in my opinion, is access. Bollywood used to seem walled off and far away. Audiences are now involved from the beginning of the adventure. The way people find, share, and discuss stories has been totally transformed by technology and digital platforms, Bhuvan told IANS.

According to Bhuvan, audiences are now more than simply spectators; they are involved in a project from the start.

“What surprised me most is how adaptable audiences are,” he said. They switch between full-length movies and short-form material with ease, as well as between a phone screen and a theater. Engagement is no longer passive.

“People participate, react, and respond, which has forced creators to be more fearless and honest.”

When Bhuvan sang the song “Teri Meri Kahani” in 2016, he first made a music video for it. Other music videos using his vocals, including “Sang Hoon Tere,” “Safar,” “Rahguzaar,” “Bas Mein,” “Ajnabee,” and “Heer Ranjha,” followed. He and Divya Dutta also starred in the short film Plus Minus.

In 2018, he launched a new YouTube digital series called Titu Talks, in which he portrays Titu Mama, one of his characters who humorously interviews his guests. Shah Rukh Khan was the first guest in the first episode.

The eight-episode online series Dhindora was uploaded on YouTube in 2021. He sang the songs “Saazish” and “Bann Gayi Zindagi” for that web series. He debuted on OTT in 2023 with Rafta Rafta and Taaza Khabar.

Bhuvan’s next project is Nikkhil Advani’s historical drama web series, The Revolutionaries. The show takes inspiration from Sanjeev Sanyal’s nonfiction book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, which chronicles the lives of young Indian freedom fighters who felt that armed resistance was necessary to bring an end to British colonial authority.
