Merry Christmas

If you suddenly feel a craving for hot chocolate, burger or any special dish on Christmas or New Year night, then there is no need to wait anymore. In view of the late night demand, restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars are focusing on staying open till late night and delivery in the last days of 2025. The industry hopes that during this festive period their sales may increase by 15 to 20 percent as compared to last year.

For the first time this year, the master franchisee of McDonald's India has started keeping four stores open for 20 to 24 hours. Apart from this, the working hours of more than 30 outlets across the country have also been increased. The company says that an increase of more than 20 percent is being seen in the number of customers coming to the store late at night. A good growth in sales is expected during this period, including both dine-in and delivery.

parties started early

Groups like Impresario Hospitality say that this time the celebrations have started earlier in December. Between December 1 and 20, an increase of about 10 percent was recorded in footfall. To attract people, many brands have added new items to their food and drinks menu after about ten years. Even on New Year's Eve, where rules permit, outlets will remain open till late night.

Christmas becomes the biggest sales driver

According to many restaurant chains, Christmas is their busiest day of the year. Some brands are expecting annual growth of 15 to 25 percent during this period. While it is difficult to go out due to reasons like cold and pollution, delivery is playing a big role. In many places, the contribution of delivery in total sales is reaching 30 to 35 percent.

Support received from government decisions and digital payments

The Maharashtra government has allowed hotels and restaurant bars to remain open till 5 am on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, which has brought great relief to the industry. At the same time, it is clear from the sharp increase in UPI transactions that people are spending more on eating out and ordering in. Restaurant owners are confident that this trend will become stronger in the coming days.
