There will be no more action at the World Darts Championship until after Christmas as the tournament takes a break over the festive period. There was plenty of entertainment on Tuesday with two big names crashing out of the competition. In the afternoon session, Daryl Gurney was eliminated by Callan Rydz before Peter Wright suffered a surprise whitewash defeat at the hands of debutant Arno Merk.

In the evening, Danny Noppert was unable to beat Justin Hood despite battling back from two sets down to force a sudden death leg. There was no such trouble for Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen, who prevailed against Connor Scutt and William O'Connor respectively. No more matches will take place until Saturday, with players able to spend Christmas with their nearest and dearest before returning on the weekend.
