District Magistrate B.N. Singh held a meeting of the Road Safety Committee in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday. In the meeting, he said that radium lights should be installed on the Wyndhamganj-Anpara road and signage boards to the information about the Trauma Center should be installed, so that in case of any road accident, injured persons can easily reach the Trauma Center. He said that proper fitness of the vehicles being driven in schools should be ensured in the interest of children and more than the prescribed number of students should not be carried on those vehicles. If any vehicle is found carrying more number of students, then action should be taken against them.

He said that the number of ambulances, cranes etc. should be increased by UPSA on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar road, reflectors should be used while driving during fog. Heavy vehicles passing through the roads should be checked and action should be taken to seize those vehicles whose body structure is found to be altered. The high speed of vehicles like four wheelers, trucks, highways etc. should be monitored, action should be taken to issue challan to those driving in an intoxicated state and action should be taken to cancel the vehicle license of those drivers. There is a greater possibility of an accident while driving in an intoxicated state. He said that in case of an accident, the injured person should be taken to the nearest health center where better treatment facilities are available, so that the injured person can get better treatment in time. He can get treatment and his life can be safe.

A better action plan for this should be made by the Health Department. In the meeting, while directing the ARTO, he said that the fitness of the vehicles should be checked from time to time and a camp should be organized to check the eyes of the drivers. On this occasion, CO Charu Dwivedi, Rajeshwar Yadav ARTO, Shailesh Thakur Executive Engineer PWD, Vinay Kumar Singh Additional District Information Officer, officials of road safety departments and other concerned people were present.
