UP: Indian weddings are extravagant events that are known for their grandeur, extravagant spending, variety of delicacies, and, of course, plenty of fun. To make the event unique, families save for years, and the costs can amount to lakhs. In an effort to make their special day unforgettable, brides and grooms often go above and beyond the call of duty, from organizing a destination wedding to asking well-known figures to attend.
However, Siddharth Rai from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, used a different approach to make his sister’s wedding really unforgettable at a time when weddings often emphasize opulence. He made the wedding a potent symbol of charity by inviting homeless people and beggars from all across the neighborhood as distinguished guests rather than just family and friends.

After being driven to the wedding location, the invited guests were greeted with open arms and seated next to family members. They were invited to participate in the festivities, which included dancing and music, and were given the same delectable cuisine as the other guests. The visitors were never given preferential treatment or made to feel alienated.
For many of the attendees, this was the first time they had ever felt such acceptance and respect. For many, it was a very emotional event that gave them a unique feeling of satisfaction, dignity, and belonging.
Siddharth Rai shared the video online and said, “True blessings come from this,” explaining that he had invited district beggars as primary guests.
The gesture is praised on social media.
