
Lucknow, 21 December. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced big relief by taking a historic decision in the interest of farmers on the occasion of International Cooperation Year-2025. In the UP Co-operative Expo-2025 and Yuva Sahakar Conference, he said that small and marginal farmers will now be provided loans from UP Co-operative Gram Vikas Bank (LDB) at only six percent interest rate.
Youth Sahakar Conference and UP Co-operative Expo-2025 A good start
CM Yogi inaugurated the Youth Co-operative Conference and UP Co-operative Expo-2025 at Jupiter Hall of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Sunday under the International Co-operative Year 2025. On this occasion, he also honored those who have done special work in this field.
During this, CM Yogi gave a big gift to small and marginal farmers. He said that the interest rate of UP Cooperative Gram Vikas Bank in the state is around 11.5%, due to which farmers have to pay more interest. The government is moving towards reducing it. Now small and marginal farmers will get this loan at only 6% interest rate. Under the Chief Minister Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, this loan will be provided through LDB while the remaining contribution will be made by the state government.
UN the year 2025 declared International Year of Co-operation
CM Yogi said that for the first time, the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi formed a separate ministry for cooperation. Earlier it used to be a small dimension under the Ministry of Agriculture. As Cooperative Minister, Amit Shah is taking the cooperative movement to new heights. The United Nations (UN) has declared the year 2025 as the International Year of Co-operation. With the inspiration of PM Modi, many steps have been taken towards strengthening cooperation.
One fourth of the world’s cooperative societies are in India.
He said that one fourth of the world’s cooperative societies are in India. Of these, more than 8.44 lakh committees and more than 30 crore members are ready to contribute as a collective force in the entire campaign.

The Chief Minister said that in the last 11 years, life has been made simpler with the use of technology and a corruption-free system has been provided. Good governance and accountability have also been ensured in the cooperative sector through digitalization, e-governance and transparent policies.
26 International Year of Co-operation was started on January
He informed that the International Year of Cooperation was inaugurated on 26 January. Thousands of people participated in ‘Run for Cooperation’. AGM was organized by UP State Co-operative Limited on 21 March 2025, in which online dividend of Rs 76 crore was distributed to the stakeholders. Certificates were distributed to 266 Drone Didis on the fourth foundation day of the Union Ministry of Cooperation on July 6, 2025.

The mega campaign for M-PAX membership started from 12th September to 30th November, in which share capital of Rs 43 crore was received through 24 lakh new members. In the M-PAX membership drive held in September 2023, 30 lakh new members were formed and share capital of Rs 70 crore was received. At present there are more than two lakh bank accounts and deposits of more than Rs 550 crore in district cooperative banks.
Co-operative banks are contributing to the prosperity of farmers
Referring to the situation of district cooperative banks before 2017, CM Yogi said that at that time 16 banks were declared defaulters and the Reserve Bank had confiscated their licenses. Now the co-operative banks of UP are healthy and contributing to the prosperity of farmers. He said that the UP government has given interest-free loan limit to M-PAX up to Rs 10 lakh, steps will be taken to increase it to Rs 15 lakh.
6760 M-Pax for fertilizer business 10 loan free interest of lakhs
The Chief Minister informed that 6760 M-PACKS have been sanctioned interest-free loan of Rs 10 lakh for fertilizer business. M-PAX has achieved a turnover of Rs 6400 crore and a profit of Rs 191 crore. At the same time, 161 M-PAX provided generic medicines through Janaushadhi centres, which has generated a business of more than Rs 1 crore 86 lakh so far.
The government gradually 4700 returned crores of rupees
He said that due to the mafia rule of the previous governments, the co-operative sector was ruined and the capital of the farmers was stuck. The government gradually returned Rs 4700 crore to the farmers. Now banks are functioning smoothly again.
