Kobbie Mainoo's brother took a swipe at Ruben Amorim and Manchester United by wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with "FREE KOBBIE MAINOO" at the Premier League clash against Bournemouth. Mainoo hasn't been in the starting line-up for any of United's 16 Premier League matches this season, his only start being in the Carabao Cup defeat at Grimsby.
United legend Paul Scholes recently cautioned the England international that his career is "being ruined" due to the lack of opportunities under Amorim, suggesting that he should consider leaving Old Trafford. The 20-year-old had an impressive breakthrough season in 2023/24, which culminated in him scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final and earning a spot in the England team.
Talks of a January exit from Old Trafford are already underway after Mainoo's summer transfer request was turned down. His brother, Jordan Mainoo-Hames, has now taken to social media to share a photo of himself wearing a "FREE KOBBIE MAINOO" T-shirt at Old Trafford during United's thrilling 4-4 draw with Bournemouth on Monday night.

When asked ahead of Monday night's match if the Mainoo had approached him about a potential loan move, Amorim responded: "If Kobbie comes to me and talks to me, I will talk to him.
"I'm not going to say what I'm going to say to Kobbie but I will be really pleased if Kobbie comes to talk to me about that. I just want my players happy and I understand that every individual has their goals.
"The frustration [of any player] doesn't help anybody. But again, the focus is [Bournemouth] and we will see if that happens.
"I had some conversations with him, especially last year, and with other players but about that subject, no I didn't speak with him. I am completely open [to talk]."
"I know that for you guys there are some players that you believe in a lot and I believe a lot but sometimes I have to make choices," he added.
"We play with two midfielders. We could change in the future but Kobbie Mainoo is playing in the same position as Bruno Fernandes and sometimes it's really hard to take Bruno Fernandes out of the team and that is the only reason."
Mainoo came on for Casemiro just past the hour mark during United's thrilling 4-4 stalemate with Andoni Iraola's team. His introduction was met by a loud cheer from the Old Trafford crowd.
United opened the scoring through Amad in the 13th minute before Antoine Semenyo levelled matters for the visitors. United did go into the interval in front courtesy of Casemiro.
Two rapid-fire strikes from Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier completely transformed the contest early in the second half. But Bruno Fernandes' free-kick and Matheus Cunha's strike within two minutes of each other again shifted momentum back towards United with 10 minutes of normal time remaining.
The final goal of the game would, however, be scored by Bournemouth. Eli Junior Kroupi rescued a point with his 84th minute strike.
