The 34th inter-regional sports competition of Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Department was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla in Rewa.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that organizing sports competitions develops a feeling of brotherhood along with creating a positive environment. Players participating in sports activities play in the spirit of the game and congratulate the winner even after losing. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla inaugurated the 34th inter-regional sports competition of Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Department organized in Rewa.
06 day event
While inaugurating the competitions to be organized for 6 days at the Sports Complex, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the officers and employees of the Irrigation Department organize sports competitions every year to keep themselves physically and mentally fit. Welcoming the officers and employees participating in this competition being organized in Rewa, the Deputy Chief Minister said that you all have come to the holy land of Rewa. On one side of this land Chitrakootdham is situated and on the other side Maa Vindhyavasni Devi is seated. Rewa has the blessings of Baba Mahamrityunjay, Chirhulanath and Mother Kalika of Ranitalab.
Deputy CM’s announcement
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the water of Son and Bihar rivers flows continuously in Rewa. With the construction of Bansagar Dam, water is reaching farmers’ fields through irrigation canals. Currently, water is available in 3 lakh acre area, soon water will start reaching 6 lakh acres and in the coming years, farmers will get water in 9 lakh acre area of Rewa and Mauganj districts and every inch of land will be irrigated. He said that the increase in irrigation facilities is being done by the Irrigation Department itself. I am happy that the officers and employees of the department also organize sports competitions to keep themselves fit. He said that due to the hard work of the officers and employees of the Irrigation Department, irrigation is being done in 54 lakh hectare area in the state. In the coming time, one crore hectare area will be irrigated and every inch of the state will be irrigated and Madhya Pradesh will become a leading state. He said that after the construction of the Sports Complex in Rewa, various sports activities are being organized and players are getting opportunities to participate in various sports competitions.
Players will participate in many events
It is noteworthy that about 600 players from all the divisions of the state are participating in the sports competition organized by the Water Resources Department, out of which more than 25 departmental women players are also included. There will be sports activities of football, cricket, table tennis, table tennis, shotball, volleyball, kabaddi, badminton and athletics in the competition.
