Kiran Bedi On Delhi Air Pollution: Pollution in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas has reached dangerous levels. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) has been recorded at 461, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. Surprisingly, AQI was 431 a day ago, which means the situation is continuously worsening and it has become difficult for people to even breathe.
Kiran Bedi expressed deep concern
Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi has expressed concern over this terrible situation in Delhi on social media platform X. Kiran Bedi On Delhi Air Pollution, he wrote that the situation in the capital has now become like ‘survival of the fittest’. He also said that the live AQI in Greater Kailash, a posh area of Delhi, reached 756, which is considered a very dangerous level for human health.
Worst conditions in these areas
The air at almost all 40 air quality monitoring stations in Delhi has been recorded in the ‘severe’ category. The situation remains most dire in areas like Rohini (499), Bawana (498), Vivek Vihar (495), Ashok Vihar and Wazirpur (493). Pollution is also at its peak in ITO (485), Mundka (486) and Anand Vihar (491).
Pollution crisis increased in NCR also
This crisis is not limited to Delhi only. The air condition in NCR cities is also very bad. The AQI in Noida (470) and Ghaziabad (460) remained in the ‘severe’ category, while the AQI in Gurugram was recorded at 348, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category.
Life affected by mist and fog
Due to dense mist and fog, visibility has become almost zero in the morning, due to which traffic on the roads has been badly affected. In view of this serious situation, experts are advising people to stay indoors, wear masks and avoid non-essential travel.
