The beloved Malayalam classic ' Summer in Bethlehem ' has officially returned to theatres in a fully remastered 4K Dolby Atmos format, marking a grand revival after 27 years.



Mohanlal celebrates the re-release



Mohanlal, who appears in one of the film’s most iconic cameo moments as the character named Niranjan, shared his happiness with fans as the restored version arrives in cinemas.

In the video actor says, “After the success of ‘Devadoothan’ 4K, ‘Summer in Bethlehem’ is also arriving in 4K Atmos. Even if it’s just one scene, I’m also there and I am happy about that.” He further captioned the post, “‘Summer in Bethlehem’ in 4K Dolby Atmos hits the screens on Dec 12. Get ready to experience the magic once again.”

Fans flood social media with love



The emotional pull of Mohanlal’s portrayal of Niranjan appears to be as strong as ever. One fan wrote, “നിരഞ്ജൻ ശരിക്കും ലാലേട്ടനെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയു… നിരഞ്ജനെ കാണാൻ മാത്രം കാണും” (Niranjan can only be played by you).



Another commented, “ലാലേട്ടന്റെ ലാസ്റ്റ് സീൻ പറയാനില്ല സൂപ്പർ… അത് കാണുമ്പോൾ എന്തൊക്കെയോ മനസിലൂടെ മിന്നി മാഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നു” (The last scene is beyond words; it brings a rush of emotions every time).

Classic returns after 27 years



First released in 1998, 'Summer in Bethlehem' stands as one of Malayalam cinema’s most emotional evergreen hits. Directed by Sibi Malayil and written by Ranjith, the film starred a powerhouse ensemble including Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Manju Warrier , Mohanlal, and Kalabhavan Mani. The movie is cherished by the Malayali audiences and all thanks to it's impressive performances, tight screenplay, and dialogues.



On the other hand, Dileep's most-loved film 'Kalyanaraman' is also gearing up for the re-release. The date for 'Kakyanaraman's release is yet to be announced by the makers.
