IndiGo Update: Due to cancellation of Indigo flights, there was a halt in movement across the country. Soon the situation became serious. Many passengers had to sleep at the airport itself, where they did not even get blankets in the cold weather. After which many videos and photos went viral on social media, it was only then that the governments woke up. DGCA also reprimanded Indigo.
The main reasons for the cancellation of flights were the reduction in the number of pilots and the timetable of flights keeping in mind the winter. Let us tell you that the most problems occurred in the first week of December, because during this period hundreds of Indigo flights were cancelled. Due to this, passengers lost time and money.
Now Indigo has announced relief to passengers due to cancellation of a large number of flights on 3 to 5 December. The company said- The affected passengers will be given compensation ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 as per government rules.
Additionally, Indigo has announced to provide travel vouchers up to Rs 10,000 for the most affected passengers. This step is considered to be a cause of relief for those passengers whose travel plans suddenly changed and who had to face a lot of inconvenience.
This is a travel voucher of Rs 10,000, the special thing about which is that it can be used anytime for the next 12 months. Passengers can use these vouchers for any IndiGo domestic flight or international route in India.
IndiGo has advised passengers to check the messages sent to their registered email and mobile numbers to ease the process of claiming compensation and vouchers.
Indigo issued a statement saying that the company expresses regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. And it is ensuring that such situations do not happen again in the future.
