When it comes to festive viewing, nothing hits the spot quite like Home Alone, but fans of the Christmas film have recently noticed a detail that they can't unsee. In fact, some have even stated it has put a dampener on Christmas, as it has taken them aback so much.

It was recently brought to people's attention on TikTok when a film lover called Kristian, known as 1minutecritic online, shared a video highlighting some alleged errors in the film. Despite being a Christmas classic, it seems there are some blunders fans may have missed, and it's led some people to say it's totally "ruined" Christmas for them.

In the video, he explained there are a few "mistakes" in the film that many people don't notice. It's not the first time viewers have spotted a few potential blunders in the treasured film either.

All was revealed in the video. It was explained: "Our first mistake comes during the morning the McCallisters are rushing to get to the airport. We see the kid from across the street bothering one of the van drivers.

"In this scene, when the van driver says 'gee kid, I don't know, hit the road', you can clearly see the kid mouthing the exact same words as the man speaks. Why did they leave this in the movie? It's so obvious. What a huge mistake.

"The next mistake comes as Kevin is getting ready to ride the sled down the stairs. Now, as a kid, this one always bothered me, because you can clearly see that the stairs don't perfectly align with the front door.

"But, even though Kevin still somehow makes it out the front door, when he's airborne, you can see wheels at the bottom of the sled. I'm pretty sure that's something most sleds aren't equipped with, and now to the case of the magically changing pants."

He expanded by explaining, when Kevin leaves the church after speaking to his elderly neighbour, he exits wearing a "dark coloured" pair of trousers. As he arrives home, they suddenly turn into a pair of blue jeans.

Later, he's back in the darker coloured trousers when he's preparing the house before Marv and Harry arrive. This was something else that left viewers floored.

Even though there are a few mistakes, he said he still loves the movie. It just goes to show errors can crop up anywhere.

Hundreds of people have commented on the video since it was shared, and it's clear their opinions are torn. Many are gobsmacked they never noticed the errors before.

One said: "I honestly never noticed any of that." Another added: "You are ruining the movie."

A third replied: "I noticed none of these. Now I will never unsee it. " Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Christmas ruined. Thanks man."

Some people didn't mind a bit though, as another wrote: "This movie could have 1,000 flaws and I'd still love it." A different fan added: "Those mistakes keep you talking about it. It's meant to be left in there."

One more chimed in with: "Still by far my favourite holiday movie. Even my kids love it. Home Alone one and two. Classics!"
