Mohamed Salah has had a difficult few days after expressing his feelings about being sidelined from the Liverpool team. The 33-year-old was omitted from the squad as the Reds clinched a victory over Inter Milan on Tuesday, following his contentious remarks about the club.

The Liverpool legend expressed feeling like he's been "thrown under the bus" after not starting for the third consecutive game in the team's 3-3 draw at Leeds United. Salah opened up about his strained relationship with manager Arne Slot and hinted at uncertainty over his future at Anfield ahead of representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations later this month.

"I called my mum and dad and told them to come to the Brighton game [on Saturday]," he said. "It doesn't matter if I play or not. I'm going to enjoy it. I am just going to be at Anfield and say goodbye to the fans before the African Cup of Nations, because I don't know what is going to happen when I am there."

Salah inked a new two-year deal with the Reds in April, but his post-match interview has sparked speculation over whether the iconic forward could depart the club, only months after netting 29 goals to help Liverpool secure the Premier League title. The Egypt international has been rumoured with a move to Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window.

After sharing a photo of himself training alone while the Liverpool team were in Milan, Salah will be leaning on his family and close friends during this tough time. The 33-year-old has previously expressed his family's love for the club.

Wife and children

Salah met his wife Magi in Egypt and the pair tied the knot in 2013. The couple welcomed their first daughter Makka in 2014, followed by Kayan in 2020.

Earlier this year, after penning his new contract, Salah revealed his family's response to the news. "They feel at home. They were very happy, Magi and the kids, they were very happy that we're staying another two years," he shared with Liverpool's official website.

"It feels like home so everyone was happy. I think Makka was the happiest one in the family, she wanted us to stay.

"Of course we all wanted to stay but Makka because her friends are here and the school. It was a very good vibe after the moment that I signed."

In 2024, Salah confessed: "My kids are Scousers now! Their language is like the accent as well. So, it's a big change."

Parents and sister

The Liverpool ace has already mentioned that he intends for his parents to be present at the upcoming Brighton match. Salah has previously posted photos of his mum and dad on social media and discussed the significant role they played in supporting his career.

Meanwhile, Salah's sister, Rabab Salah, has publicly backed her brother following his remarks about the club. Sharing a photo with her sibling, she captioned it: "The one and only. Legend," accompanied by an Egyptian flag, crown and heart emojis.

Salah's agent

Ramy Abbas Issa has yet to comment on his client's recent statements. However, he has previously offered insights during pivotal moments in Salah's career.

In 2022, after Salah signed a new contract, Issa spoke to Al Arabiya Sport: "It's good to know where he's going to be for the next two-and-a-half years, but when someone has been playing football for so many years at the highest level - I don't think you need much motivation.

"Even when he's stepped on the pitch he doesn't think about contracts or these things, he just lives the moment and tries to do his best for whichever team, regardless of where he is playing."

The subsequent year, following rumours of Salah moving to Saudi Arabia, Issa took to social media: "If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn't have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC."

In February, responding to a post praising Arne Slot's work at Liverpool, Issa commented: "Excellent at his job."
