Effect of negativity: People with negative thinking often focus on their own problems and are not interested in finding solutions. They want people to listen to them so that they can feel better. Many times, people feel compelled to listen to their problems because they want to avoid sentimentality. But there’s a big difference between showing empathy and getting involved in the problem.




Set boundaries: You can set boundaries to avoid toxic people. Ask such people how they would like to improve a particular situation. This will either reduce their complaints or move your conversation in a positive direction.


Identification of relationships: If you’re just trying to maintain the relationship, you’re probably in a toxic relationship. Toxic people make you feel as if you owe them something. They try to take unnecessary advantage of you, which may hurt you. This situation is often seen in the workplace or personal relationships.


Election Status: Toxic people put you in situations where you have to choose between them and someone else. They only become your priority when they feel you are their priority. Such people are never satisfied, no matter what you do for them.
