Heart Attack Symptoms: The cold winter breeze may bring relief to your face, but this season brings danger to your heart. In fact, as the temperature falls, the blood vessels of the body shrink, blood pressure starts increasing and the heart has to work harder than normal. This is the reason why many people feel such symptoms in this season which are often ignored considering them as fatigue, cold or everyday busyness. But these signs can be early symptoms of major problems for the heart. In such a situation, let us know about such symptoms.
According to experts, chest pain does not always occur suddenly. Many people feel it like heaviness, burning sensation, pressure. These symptoms may become more visible in winter due to reduced oxygen supply and increased blood pressure. If you feel discomfort in the chest while walking or climbing stairs in cold and it gets better after rest, then do not take it lightly.
It is normal to feel a little breathless while climbing stairs or walking fast, but if this is a new problem and is continuously increasing, then do not ignore it, otherwise it can be a sign of increasing pressure on the heart. In cold, the ventricles shrink due to which the heart needs more power for pumping. These symptoms are often ignored by thinking of them as allergies or asthma, whereas heart- shortness of breath increases suddenly and becomes more visible after walking fast, eating or lying down.
It is common to feel a little lethargic in winter, but if even small activities make you tired then it can be a warning. Such weakness is felt when sufficient blood is not reaching the body. People often mistake it for stress or lack of sleep, whereas it can be an early sign of heart failure.
When the heart is unable to pump at full capacity, fluid accumulates in the body. Drinking less water and doing less activity in winter can further increase this swelling. Shoes feeling tight, socks’ marks becoming darker or puffiness appearing around the ankles, all these can be signs of heart problem.
