Patna. Many important decisions were approved in the cabinet meeting of the new NDA government of Bihar held on Tuesday. A total of 19 important proposals were approved in this meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. These decisions will have a direct impact on the state employees, pensioners and common citizens.

1. Benefits to government employees

The government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners by 5 percent. Now from July 1, 2025, DA will increase from 252% to 257%. This step is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of families.

2.Establishment of three new departments in the state

Keeping administrative reforms in mind, the Cabinet approved the proposal to establish three new departments in the state. Formation of new departments will speed up government work and make policy-making more effective.

3. ‘Skill Program’ for the students of the state

Bihar government has entered into an agreement (MoU) with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) to provide employment-oriented training to the youth. Under this, a special skill development program will be started for the students, so that they can get better opportunities in the financial market and other technical fields.

4.Gaya and Munger became ‘Civil Defense District’

With a view to further strengthen the security in the state, Gaya and Munger districts have been declared as ‘Civil Defense Districts’. This will allow disaster management and security activities to be implemented in a more organized manner.

5. Bihar Electronic Process Rules 2025 approved

The Cabinet approved ‘Bihar Electronic Orders Rules, 2025’ to formalize the process of issuing, sending and enforcing electronic orders in the state under relevant sections of the Indian Civil Defense Code 2023. This will make administrative work more digital and transparent.

6. Rs 400 crore assistance for electricity bills of municipal bodies

The Cabinet has approved an assistance of Rs 400 crore for payment of dues of South and North Bihar power distribution companies with a view to provide relief to the municipal bodies of the state. This help will be for the financial year 2025-26.
