Bihar Minister: The new headquarters building for the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), which is expected to cost Rs 83.24 crore to construct, was inspected on-site by Sanjay Kumar Singh, Bihar’s Minister for Public Health Engineering, on Friday.

Among the high-ranking officials in attendance were Engineer-in-Chief-turned-Special Secretary Shri Nityanand Prasad, Departmental Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, and Special Secretary Sanjeev Kumar.


The minister ordered a comprehensive examination of the technical quality of every building component during the visit. He emphasized that stringent attention to construction standards is required and that the structure is being constructed to accommodate the department’s future demands. “Our key concerns are the building’s durability and robustness. “Quality will not be compromised at any level,” he said.


A specific task team has been established to monitor progress every day and take remedial action as necessary in order to guarantee constant monitoring. In order to methodically manage the timetable and quality control, the contractor has also been instructed to produce a weekly work plan.


Minister Singh emphasized that the department is moving quickly to build regional, circle, division, and subdivision offices around the state in addition to the headquarters. In order to increase operational capacity and provide the public with better organized, dependable, and contemporary services, emphasis is also being placed on modernizing and constructing additional water testing facilities.


The minister was informed by officials on the state of affairs, technical specifications, and completion goals. The minister emphasized that efficiency and openness continue to be the top priority in departmental projects and urged all agencies engaged to guarantee high-quality construction within timeframes.
