Lucknow. As a result of the leadership and clear policy direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has successfully crossed the target of three lakh installations (3,00,654) of solar energy. This achievement makes the state among the leading solar energy states of the country. Only Gujarat and Maharashtra are ahead of UP in this area.
According to government data, so far 3,00,654 solar installations have been completed in the state out of 9,83,915 applications. With this, the total installed capacity of solar energy in the state has reached 1038.27 MW, due to which millions of families are getting clean and affordable electricity.
The state government has so far released subsidy worth Rs 2074.53 crore. This has significantly reduced the financial burden on consumers and has accelerated the adoption of solar energy.
In the last eight years, the Yogi government has kept renewable energy as its top priority.
These steps have created a new environment of confidence and simplicity in the solar energy sector.
Energy experts believe that UP's existing solar capacity of 1038.27 MW is not only balancing the increasing demand for electricity, but is also opening the way for additional energy production. Industries, agriculture sector and domestic consumers are getting its direct benefits. Due to this, the economic pace of the state is increasing further.
The biggest benefit of solar energy is being seen in rural areas.
This is the reason why Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as one of the largest renewable energy markets in the country.
Data and ground reality show that the Yogi government has given priority to both speed and transparency in the renewable energy sector. Crossing the target of three lakh installations is not just a number, but a symbol of the new energy infrastructure towards which Uttar Pradesh is continuously moving. UP has recorded historic achievements in all three areas – energy self-reliance, environmental protection and economic empowerment, which will give a new direction to the country's renewable energy sector in the times to come.
