Here's why Gautam Gambhir slammed DC Owner Parth Jindal
07 Dec 2025
Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir has hit back at Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal for suggesting a split coaching system for the Indian cricket team.
The criticism came after India's recent 0-2 Test series defeat to South Africa.
Speaking at the post-match press conference after India's 2-1 ODI series triumph over SA, Gambhir asked Jindal to stay in his "domain" and not comment on the state of Indian cricket.

Coaching debate
Gambhir also questioned Jindal's comments, saying they were not directly related to cricket.
He said, "An IPL team owner wrote about split coaching. We don't enter anyone's domain, so it's important that people stay in their domain."
The Indian head coach further emphasized that such opinion makers should refrain from making remarks that have no direct connection with on-field cricketing matters.
Jindal's response to India's Test defeat
Reaction
After India suffered another home Test defeat, Jindal had advocated for a split coaching policy in Indian cricket.
He tweeted, "Not even close, what a complete thrashing at home! Don't remember seeing our test side being so weak at home!!! This is what happens when red ball specialists are not picked."
He also suggested that the team doesn't reflect the deep strength it possesses in red-ball format and called for India to appoint a specialist red-ball coach for Test cricket.
Gambhir defends India's performance amid criticism
Defense
In the Guwahati post-match press conference, Gambhir defended his record as India's red-ball coach.
He said, "I don't give excuses in press conferences. But that does not mean you don't present the facts before the country."
He explained that losing a captain who is also a key batter in red-ball cricket against such a quality team would naturally lead to difficult results.
