After the incident, accused Rahul himself reached the police station with a blood stained weapon and told the police that he had murdered his mother and the body was present in the house. According to the information, Madhu Devi’s husband Ved Prakash, who lived in Janta Colony of Modinagar, was an inspector in the Excise Department and he died in the year 2002. The deceased has four daughters and one son. The only son of the family, Rahul lived in this house with his mother, wife Parineeta and eight-year-old son. The daughters are married and live at different places.

According to local people, there was a dispute going on between Rahul and his mother for a long time. The main reason for the dispute is said to be the pension of the deceased. The accused alleged that his mother used to give her pension amount to her daughters, due to which he was angry. Apart from this, he feared that the house would also be transferred to his daughters’ name. Due to this tension, Rahul had beaten his mother a few days ago also.
