News India Live, Digital Desk: Liver Detox Naturally: We Indians are often very concerned about the health of the heart, but we often ignore another superhero of the body. That is our liver. Poor liver silently cleans all the dirt from our body, digests food and gives us energy. Often we think, “Brother, I don’t drink alcohol, my liver is like iron.” But friends, this is our biggest misconception. In today’s time, the liver is getting damaged even without drinking alcohol, which is called ‘Fatty Liver’ in medical language. Let us understand in simple language what are our daily mistakes which are taking a toll on this innocent organ. 1. Sweets and flour: Poison of taste No celebration of us Indians is complete without sweets. But excessive consumption of sugar and flour (like biscuits, bread, pizza, bhature) is no less bad for the liver than alcohol. The liver converts excess sugar into ‘fat’. And when this fat starts accumulating on the liver, the liver also starts having difficulty in breathing. Imagine, what would happen if plastic was put on someone’s mouth? Same is the condition of liver.2. Lazy life (Couch Potato Lifestyle) Sitting on a chair for 8 hours in the office, lying on the sofa after coming home and not doing any physical activity. When we eat but do not move the body, that energy is not expended. outcome? All that energy gets stored as fat around the stomach and liver. ‘Obesity’ is the biggest enemy of the liver.3. Becoming one’s own doctor (addiction to painkillers) Had a slight headache, immediately took ‘pain killer’ from the medical store and consumed it. Sneezed a little, took antibiotics. Remember friends, whatever medicine we take has to be processed by the liver. Taking medicines for small things without doctor’s advice puts a lot of pressure on the liver, due to which it can gradually get damaged.4. Lack of sleep and late dinner: Our body works according to a body clock. The liver needs time at night to repair itself and detoxify. But what do we do? Stay awake till 12-1 am and eat chips or Maggi in the name of ‘mid-night snacking’. Due to this, the liver does not get rest and it starts getting tired and falling ill.5. Drink less water. The main function of the liver is to remove toxins from the body, and for this it needs water. If you do not drink enough water throughout the day, then the dirt in the body keeps accumulating inside, due to which the liver becomes weak. So what to do now? No need to panic! Liver is the only organ in our body that can regenerate itself. Just give it some time. Walk 3-4 days a week. Eat simple home-cooked food, say ‘no’ to processed food from outside. Eat at least 2-3 hours before sleeping at night. Drink plenty of water. Friends, we only get one body, it is our responsibility to take care of it. So let’s resolve to change these habits today itself.
