Aadhaar-UAN Linking: With the end of the year, the deadlines for many important tasks have also passed. The deadline for Aadhaar-UAN linking has also passed, and if the linking is not completed now, many PF-related tasks will be directly affected.

Aadhaar-UAN Linking: The year is coming to an end, and with it, deadlines for many important tasks are also passing. Some deadlines have quietly passed, including the deadline for Aadhaar and UAN linking, which has now expired. The EPFO has announced that there will be no further extensions. This means that employers who have not completed the linking will no longer be able to do so from November 2025. Let us explain what work this will affect.

ECR Filing Will Not Be Possible

Employers who have not completed the linking after the Aadhaar and UAN linking deadline have passed will now be able to file ECR from November 2025. Let us tell you that ECR is a digital document that sends complete details of employees' contributions and payments to the EPFO every month. Without Aadhaar and UAN linking, this file will not be submitted.

This could mean that the employer's entire PF system could come to a standstill. The EPFO issued several warnings and even extended the deadline. However, it has now stated that enough time has been given. There is no hope of relief after the deadline expires. Therefore, those whose linking is pending may face difficulties.

Which sectors will be most affected?

This decision applies to the entire country. However, the impact will be more pronounced in certain areas and sectors. Employers working in the northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura need to be especially cautious. Beedi manufacturing, building and construction materials, and plantation industries such as tea, coffee, pepper, cardamom, jute, and rubber also fall directly under the purview.

How to Link Aadhaar with UAN?

Now, the last and most important point. If for some reason your Aadhaar isn't yet linked to your UAN, you can do it online immediately. Log in to the EPFO Unified Portal. Then, go to Manage and select KYC, select Aadhaar, enter the number, and save.

How to Check Linking Status

To check your linking status, log in to the Member Service Portal and open the KYC section. If Aadhaar is listed in the Verified Documents, everything is fine. If it's not, don't delay; otherwise, many future PF-related tasks may be delayed.
