A Journey Through Theatre

Acclaimed actor, writer, and performer Ashutosh Rana is set to present his celebrated theatre production, Humare Ram, in Chandigarh. This production embodies not just a play but a profound journey filled with artistic dedication and introspection. The excitement surrounding the show has been palpable nationwide, with many fans returning to see it 20 to 25 times, relishing the experience like 'meeting an old friend anew.'

The Joy of Audience Connection

Rana expresses immense gratitude for the loyal audience that has embraced his work. He shares, "There is no greater happiness for an artiste than to have a loyal audience. It’s my fortune that I have gotten so much love."

Theatre's Influence on Ashutosh Rana

While Ashutosh Rana is well-known for his roles in films such as Dushman, Sangharsh, and Pathaan, his roots in theatre have significantly shaped his artistic identity. His time at the National School of Drama (NSD) was pivotal, honing his skills and sensitivity as an actor. He fondly recalls his performances in NSD productions, including the cult classic Purush, directed by Vijaya Mehta. However, his passion for the stage ignited much earlier.

A Lifelong Learning Experience

Rana reminisces about his first stage experience at the tender age of four, where he discovered the joy of appreciation. The applause from his elders instilled in him a sense of responsibility and the importance of being skilled and disciplined. He reflects, "That appreciation taught me that an artiste must be nipun — skilled, disciplined, accountable. The stage trains you to respect your craft."

A Continuous Journey of Self-Discovery

After completing his education at NSD, Rana embarked on what he describes as a fulfilling journey of learning and self-refinement. He views acting as a means of self-exploration, stating, "For me, acting is a meeting with oneself. Each of us carries many selves within us — acting helps me connect with those selves. It is a form of salvation."

Humare Ram: A Reflection of Humanity

This philosophy is central to Humare Ram, a production that intertwines mythology with contemporary issues, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own values and conflicts. Rana sees bringing this production to Chandigarh as a significant part of his personal pilgrimage. He expresses gratitude for the audiences who are rediscovering him not just as a film star but as a storyteller, creating a shared emotional experience with each performance.

Upcoming Performances

Humare Ram is scheduled to be performed at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula on December 6 and 7, promising an evening filled with reflection, devotion, and artistic excellence.
