Kolkata: There are common reports of people getting injured in stray dog ​​attacks from different parts of the country. But when someone left a newborn baby to die in the freezing cold just hours after birth, a pack of stray dogs stood up to protect him. This unique case is from Nadia district of West Bengal. At a time when even children sleeping at home are becoming victims of dog attacks, it is surprising to see stray dogs becoming protectors of a child. Until the rescue team arrived, the dogs stood around the child, keeping him warm and guarding him from the cold. The child was left outside a toilet near Railway Employees Colony in Nadia.

Didn't even wipe off blood stains, stray dogs became guards

Looking at the child it was clear that he was born only a few hours ago. There was blood on his body, but those who left him did not even keep a small cloth to cover him. It is believed that cruel people had abandoned the child thinking that he would either die of cold or be bitten by dogs. But, a group of stray dogs from the area saw the child and ran to protect him. They kept guarding the child the whole night without barking or moving. Local people told the media that the dogs did not allow anyone else to come near the child at night. Local resident Sukla Mondal was the first to see the child surrounded by dogs. Sukla tells that when she went near the group of dogs, they neither barked nor tried to drive them away. Local people say that perhaps the dogs had understood that the child was fighting for his life.

Hearing the child's crying in the morning, local people arrived and rescued him and took him to the hospital. Sukla Mondal tells that the dogs stood there until she wrapped the child in her scarf and picked it up. The child was first taken to Mahesh Ganj Hospital and then to Krishnanagar Sadar Hospital. Hospital officials say that there are no injuries on the child's body, only blood stains from the time of birth. Police believe that a local resident has left the child here. Nabadwip Police has registered the case and started investigation. At present the child is under the care of the Child Protection Department. Local people expressed surprise and said that these were the same dogs that used to attack them while going to work, but it was they who saved the life of the child. Police are searching for the child's parents.
