India vs South Africa 2nd ODI Match: The ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa is now entering its second match. This match will be played on 3rd December at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. In the first ODI played in Ranchi, Team India had registered a spectacular victory by 17 runs, where Virat Kohli scored the 52nd century of his ODI career. Kuldeep Yadav performed brilliantly in bowling and kept South Africa’s batting under pressure. In such a situation, the second match will be an opportunity for India to capture the series, while South Africa will try its best to make a comeback by winning this match.

How will the Raipur pitch be?

Till now the pitch of Raipur has been considered as such a surface where balance between ball and bat is seen. Batsmen get a lot of advantage on this pitch at the beginning of the innings. The ball comes with good bounce on the bat, which leads to the possibility of scoring fast runs in the powerplay.

However, as the overs progress, the role of the spinners increases. The ball starts stopping and the batsmen find it difficult to play shots. This is why the matches here often remain balanced. Now it will be interesting to see what kind of behavior the second ODI shows. Will the pitch again help the batsmen or will the spinners continue to dominate?

India’s record in Raipur

Only one ODI match has been played at Raipur Cricket Stadium so far and that match was between India and New Zealand in the year 2023. In that match, the New Zealand team, batting first, was bundled out for just 108 runs. Mohammed Shami had eased the way for Indian victory by taking 3 wickets.

In reply, India easily achieved this target in 20.2 overs. On the basis of this match, the average score of the first innings has been considered as 108 and that of the second innings as 111. If we look at the performance of the last match, Raipur’s pitch proved to be a low-scoring track, but this time the circumstances may be different.

Will India’s playing eleven change?

Team India had performed brilliantly in the first ODI, so there is little possibility of any major change in the playing eleven for the second match. In Ranchi, Rituraj Gaikwad was sent at number four, but he was out after scoring only 8 runs. Despite this, the team management can give him another chance.
