New Delhi: The name of the Prime Minister’s Office has been changed. Now it will be known as Seva Teerth. The new PM office, to be built under the Central Vista Project, has now been named Seva Tirtha. This is the center from where important decisions of the country are taken. Its purpose is to promote the spirit of service in governance. This is not the only change, the names of some government buildings in the country have been changed some time ago, which indicates a major change in the thinking of governance.

According to sources, the government wants to give such an identity to the administrative system so that it shows more service than authority and more responsibilities than rights. Raj Bhavans will now be known as Lok Bhavans. PM Awas was already named Lok Kalyan Marg. Not only this, Rajpath of Delhi is now known as Kartavya Path.

The Central Secretariat has also now got the new name Kartavya Bhawan. The government says that this change is not limited to just the name, but is meant to send a message that the government is there to serve the people, and not to show power. According to sources, this change in names reflects new ideas in the priorities of the government.
