The suicide of a young businessman in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh has shaken the entire area. Shivmohan Singh, 26, who ran a finance company in Transport Nagar, hanged himself in his office room on Monday. An emotional suicide note found from him is making everyone cry. In this he has written the story of his life’s pain, betrayal and last wishes.

What happened that day?

Shivmohan went to his chamber at around 2 pm and closed the door. When there was no movement till 7 pm and the phone was also switched off, the staff called his maternal uncle. As soon as the door was broken, everyone was stunned – Shivmohan was hanging from the muffler. Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem and started investigation.

The whole story was hidden in the suicide note

Shivmohan, a resident of Devtalab in Rewa district, apologized to his father in the note. He wrote that loneliness led him to alcoholism. But the biggest pain was – a girl’s betrayal. He clearly said that the person who hurt his sentiments was responsible for his death. Psychologists say that betrayal in relationships is often a major cause of depression, especially among youth.

Family’s concerns and last wishes

Shivmohan did not stop at his pain alone. He requested his father to get his wife Swati married for the second time. He also said that his son Golu’s scooter, which has been mortgaged, should be redeemed. The most touching appeal was – his organs should be donated. According to doctors, thousands of people die every year in India due to lack of organs. One person’s organs can save up to 8 lives.

Why are such incidents increasing?

In small towns like Satna, finance business is full of pressure. Debt collection, customer stress and family responsibilities together affect mental health. Experts believe that men often suppress their emotions, due to which depression becomes severe. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, suicide cases in Madhya Pradesh have increased by 15% in the last 5 years.

What can society and police do?

Police are searching for the girl who is mentioned in the note. But the real question is – are we paying attention to the mental state of the people around us? Counseling centres, support from friends and family can prevent such tragedies.
