Lucknow. Like every year, this year also a grand “Talent Honor and Social Upliftment Ceremony” was organized by Kan Seva Samiti in the capital Lucknow on 30 November 2025 at Sahakaritha Bhawan, Lucknow. In the programme, a total of 100 meritorious students – 55 from 10th and 45 from 12th – from boards across the country were honored with excellent certificates and trophies.

The committee provided financial assistance of ₹ 10,000 per student to 50 economically weak, single-parent and orphan children of the society. Children of the society coming from different districts gave cultural folk songs, dramas and presentations based on the ideology of Bahujan great men. 35 senior social workers, officers, teachers, businessmen and hard workers of the society were honored by the committee by presenting them shawls, mementos and flower bunches. Talented youth who are excelling in the field of sports – Dharmendra Sonkar (hockey coach), Arvind Sonkar (tennis coach), Shraddha Sonkar (football coach) and Sudhanshu Sonkar (cricket player) were also honoured.

Lighting of the lamp and inauguration of the commencement program was presided over by prominent scientist Dr. R. Of. It was done by lighting the lamp by Sonkar. Buddha Vandana was performed by senior members of the society Shri Sitaram Sonkar and Chandan Sonkar. Powerful thoughts of the keynote speakers Dr. Ragini Sonkar (Former AIIMS Doctor and MLA – Machhlishahar) – The keynote speaker said that “Education is the milk of a lioness – whoever drinks it will roar.” Citing the example of the struggles of Savitribai Phule and Mata Ramabai, he appealed to women and girls to be aware of education. He also said that there is no lack of talent among the children of the society, there is a need for facilities, opportunities and right guidance. He inspired the youth for skill development, self-reliance and active participation in the upliftment of the society.

Shailendra Sonkar (Deputy Commissioner – Persons with Disabilities, Uttar Pradesh) – Chief Guest Shailendra Sonkar while addressing the meritorious said that “Today’s honor is not just an award, but is the first step towards your bright future.”

He urged the youth of the society to have determination, discipline and set high goals. He said that “Education and awareness are the foundation of social equality and justice—it is our collective responsibility to take it to every household.” Dr. RK Sonkar (Chief Scientist – Program Chairman) Dr. Sonkar said, “Only modern education can give the right direction to the society and will also help in making the country a good citizen. To encourage the students, a 13-point oath was administered and emphasis was given to the children to stay away from superstition and hypocrisy and move towards education.

An appeal was made to all the students of the society that they should try to get 100% marks and there should also be preparation. If students study with time management, they will undoubtedly achieve their goals. It is the responsibility of us parents to maintain a constant learning environment in the family and to keep children as far away as possible from TV and mobile as well as social sites. Emphasis was laid on following the Constitution and creating awareness in the society. President, Kan Seva Samiti – Rakesh Kumar Sonkar said, “Our achievements today are the result of the struggles of our great men – especially Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. We are indebted to them.” He told the children that they should not just move forward themselves, but take a pledge to move forward taking the entire society along. Expressing his gratitude to the parents and all the intelligentsia of the society, he said, “Our aim is to give opportunity to talent, respect to struggle and direction to the society.”
